So many of these pop songs follow the same formula with the same four notes too. It's like a bunch of repetitions of the same note, followed by a quick drop down to the lowest note at the end of the bar, and then just repeat that forever. It's always reminded me of the stupid little taunting songs 5 year olds will sing to insult each other. Like, that's pretty good for a five year old, but very sad for the most popular music in the world
