META AI CHATBOTS

Have you ever wanted to get big sister advice from Kendall Jenner, jokes from Mr Beast, or dance lessons from Charli D'Amelio?
Well now you can kind of. Meta's just announced 28 AI chatbots with different personalities, with some based on celebrities like Charli D'Amelio and Mr Beast. There's a big sister character called Billie, based on Kendall Jenner's personality. There's even an option to play an RPG with Snoop Dogg. Meta isn't the first company to make chatbots designed to keep us company as well as answer our questions. Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI are also trying to make AI a part of our daily routines. And yesterday Chat GPT announced it will now use up-to-date information from the internet to answer questions in an effort to improve accuracy. Of course not everyone's convinced that AI will improve our lives, but many say it will bring some big changes.

DALLY M AWARDS

Two Newcastle Knights players have taken out Rugby League's top honours at the Dally M awards. Kayln Ponga and Tamika Upton were named this year's best male and female players
Upton lead the Knights to Sunday's WNRL grand final while Ponga helped drag his team into the top eight with a nine-game winning streak to end the season. It was a bit of a surprise to many who'd expected the Warriors Shaun Johnson to take the top men's prize but Ponga pipped him at the post.

CLIMATE KIDS

Climate change affects everyone, but these six young people over in Europe are taking some serious action. They're going to court to demand more action from 32 countries across Europe. It was after terrible wildfires at their home in Portugal in 2017 that they decided to take drastic action. This week, the group and their lawyers went to the European Court of Human Rights to argue that governments across Europe aren't doing enough about climate change. They say that kids' human rights, like their rights to play outdoors and get an education, are being threatened by rising heat and air pollution. But they'll have to prove their case, and they'll be up against a big legal team, representing the 32 nations being sued. They say governments know how serious climate change is, but it should be up to them, not the Human Rights Court, to make decisions that will affect a lot of people. It will be months before the judge makes any decisions, but these young people are hoping their fight will bring about some big changes.
