GameCube was such an amazing console. I just recently picked up Eternal Darkness and it holds up great. Currently playing through the original TTYD for the first time

Wave Race, 1080 Snowboarding, and Pilotwings. Would be SO HAPPY if any of those games get updated for the Switch.

I remember watching the original review of the thousand year door on Judgement Day back in the G4 Days!! You gave it an 8 I think and Tommy gave it a 4 lmao

I bought a GameCube at launch and it's still hooked up to my TV.

Maybe Sega could stop re-releasing Genesis games long enough to give us HD remasters of Skies of Arcade Legends and Phantasy Star Online Ep 1-3. And throw Billy Hatcher onto the pile. I'd probably grab that on a sale. 🤭 And I know I'm repeating myself, but Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.

Paper Mario on my N64 is my favourite “childhood game”. But the next gen, I went PS2 and never got a GameCube. As such, I have never played TTYD. I am having a blast playing it with my 5 year old daughter watching alongside (she loved watching me play Paper Mario on NSO).

Side note: despite its noticeable flaws, I really enjoyed Origami King.

You read my mind Vic, I was thinking Eternal Darkness the whole time. Two other games that would be cool but also need a lot of work would be Cubivore and Doshin the Giant.

Rolled credits on TTYD this morning and I adored every minute of it. Completely holds up still today and the remake looks beautiful. They did a great job with it and it's definitely the definitive way to play it now. So happy to have the physical with the full game on the cart and still not a single patch or update required. Version 1.0 was perfect. I didn't run into a single issue from front to back. This remake is 👌

Great vid Vic! You're wishlist of GameCube games exactly matches my own. That system had a unique library that is hard to play today. I need Eternal Darkness and a sequel!!

I honestly never heard of Wario World until now (or I completely forgot about it), but I'd be interested in seeing that one and also the wario land game on the wii brought to modern platforms to give a try. Top notch video as always, enjoyed the relaxed park bench approach :)

Do like this trend of updating older games.

It would be cool if we got Kirby air ride on switch

Vic is smart ! He says "device" instead of "console" because he knows the new generation vibes with it a bit better.

How is my aim Vic 😂

My choices in GCN re-releases, and I'm gonna bring up third party titles as those (such as Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy, Jedi Outcast, Tales of Symphonia, and RE4) are already on the Switch:

SoulCalibur II - We had an HD re-release (that I was lucky to buy before Bandai Namco delisted WITHOUT WARNING) that never appeared on the then newly releasing Wii U, but it did on Xbox and PlayStation. And it had Heihachi and Spawn, which were formerly PS2 and Xbox exclusive respectively, yet it seems to be agreed that the GCN version with Link is not only the best guest star, the best version overall. So a Switch version with not only those two, but Link would be awesome!

(Plus, Link is already fighting Heihachi's son Kazuya in Smash)

SW Rogue Squadron: Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike - It seems even Disney is ignoring these for some reason, while focusing on the Star Wars games that were on PC, Xbox, and in some cases Wii and PS2, with KOTOR I/II, Dark Forces/Jedi Outcast (that was on GameCube)/Academy, Force Unleashed Wii, Republic Commando, and classic Battlefront. Nevermind RS II having as much as critical admiration AS KOTOR and Outcast even at the time.

Battalion Wars - It was a unique take on the Nintendo Wars series and since we had Advance Wars: Re-BOOT Camp.

Pac-Man World 2 - Pac-Man World Re-PAC was a great remake of the PS1 game, but as World 2 is considered the best one of the trilogy.

Custom Robo - Series never got a chance to breathe. Not only on the GameCube, but the DS as well.

Viewtiful Joe - Despite porting to PS2, VJ felt so GameCube. But they might as well add Dante as DMC is on Nintendo Switch.

And now for some probably on the impossible...

Naruto: Clash of Ninja series and Zatch Bell! Mamodo Battles - Some of my favorite anime-licensed games to play at the time were by one developer: Eighting (Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Bloody Roar). CoN is underrated in comparison to Ultimate Ninja. Plus, ZB has been having a resurgence in Japan lately.

One Piece: Grand Battle and Adventure - Licensed franchises like One Piece kept the Power Stone formula alive when Capcom failed to do so after Power Stone 2. And with that series popularity especially in the Funimation/Crunchyroll era, would like re-localized versions of these, but find a way to keep the 4Kids translations for historical reasons.

EA's 007 titles: Nightfire, Everything or Nothing, From Russia with Love - Now getting into the way more seemingly impossible, but after Goldeneye's re-release, more of Bond's gaming history needs to be re-explored. Nightfire in my opinion is the most underrated FPS in the series, especially on consoles (with GCN being my go to version). EoN in video game form, was a proper film sequel and a good-bye for Pierce Brosnan after the disappointing Die Another Day, and FRWL was a nice bit of fanservice giving us Connery-Bond one last time.

Man, you’ve checked off all of the Gamecube games that need to get on the Switch!! To be honest, i’d even take just straight up ports like they did with Pikmin 1 + 2 and Mario Sunshine! The first Luigi’s Mansion is another game i’d love to see since 2 is getting the HD treatment!

I'd love to see Path of Radiance on the Switch, though I imagine if any Fire Emblem game is getting remastered next it's Geneology of the Holy War considering they've already remade the three games before it in the series and Sigurd featured in a prominent role in Engage
