Do not stress about the Schengen Visa interview, it might be easier to think of it like going to the doctors. But instead of asking about your symptoms, they will ask about your travel - which you know everything about.

This is not a test about 'how much you know regarding the Schengen Visa process', it is just questions about your intentions, your itinerary, etc. So, as long as you were the one who put together your application, you will be fine.

The questions are almost always the same as the information you provided in your requirements. Such as "where are you going?", "who are you seeing?", "what are you going to do?", "are you meeting anybody?", "do you have enough money to travel?", etc.

The reason the Embassy interviews you and asks the same questions as the items in your requirements is to ensure that you are the person who put together the application. People who cannot answer questions regarding there travel are usually people who are trying to travel illegally, so this helps them stop those travellers.

Never go in shorts and a t-shirt, respect that this is an official Government building, so please dress smart. This means wearing pants, closed shoes, a shirt and a nice haircut. You do not need to wear a full suit and tie but be sure you wear office style clothes.

Always arrive early (at least 30 minutes) to the appointment because you never know if you will have traffic problems, if there is additional paperwork you need to complete upon arrival, if the is an issue finding the office, etc. If you are a 'no show' to you Schengen Visa interview because you missed your appointment by being late, it is not good for your chance of being approved.

When answering questions, do not say words like "umm" and "ahh" or nervously answer their questions, as it can suggest you are not saying the truth. If you are confident you will be approved, then your nerves will start to relax and you will have more of a chance to be approved.

The Embassy representative will ask deeper questions about your application, so be sure that you know why you are travelling, the people you are travelling with, the countries you will attend, etc before going in. You do not need to memorise them like a test, as you can still refer to your documents but just be sure to re-read over them.

Do not try to hide any information from the Embassy, as they always have a way to figure out what you are hiding from them. I suggest that you share every piece of information with them, even if you believe they might not want to hear it because it is a better outcome than being found out that you have lied.
