After a year following this project, I'm still blown away by the potential for this possibly paradigm-shifting tech.
Loved all of the fantastically simple explanations. Really wanted to hear the reply to the final question.

Every single thing said about $kas in this video is wrong (at least in the first 12 minutes, after which I became too irritated to keep watching). This isn't a "comparison", it is a smear video.

Few examples:
- GHOSTDAG provides hard guarantees on finality time, and this is proven in the paper. It definitely has much better finality guarantees than POEM's (which are not even proven in the paper, just conjectured based on a single extremely simplified toy example).
- GHOSTDAG is not "theoretically limited by 2000 TPS" as the testnet itself already runs at 3000 TPS, and the benchmarks show we can definitely go much higher. More generally speaking, there is no theoretical bound for GHOSTDAG TPS. Increasing the throughput to arbitrary BPS does not harm security, the reason we do not do it is that it increases hardware requirements. The 3000BPS benchmark (with a queue of 650k txns on mempool) was achieved with some of the nodes running on 100$ hardware, and still showed a lot of room for growth.
- GHOSTDAG is not "incompatible" with smart-contracts, subnetworks (which are already implemented ffs), LN, rollups, inscriptions or anything else.
- The fact that GHOSTDAG is not sharded is an advantage over Quai, not the other way around. Being able to scale without resorting to sharding is a good thing. So in this case you weren't lying, just misleading the audience.

The amount of disinformation is so egregious that I cannot accept that it is a result of misunderstanding. This was a deliberate attempt to sabotage our efforts by means of disinformation, facilitated by someone who presents himself as an academic. Honestly, you should be ashamed to put out such content.

Being so compelled to lie about other projects to boost your own just proves how insecure you are of your own work (and honestly, having read the POEM white paper, I can understand why.)

High block rates enabled by Kaspa can be a game changer in the DeFi world. Benefits of extremely high BPS (10+bps), some of which are smart contract related: Increased transaction throughput (increasing block sizes also increases block concurrency). -UX: minimizing time until initial tax inclusion (aka 0-conf time; one can agree that this aspect would not benefit from going below 100ms block time). - Reduced variance of miner rewards. - Setting the ground for MEV-resistance strategies which will be based on partial knowledge and competition between concurrent miners. - Minimizing oracle latency, updates from external sources will stream to consensus state with high frequency. -Large service providers can have a small fraction of the hash rate and still provide quality service to customers (e.g. with 1% they have 1-10 seconds block time for 100-10 BPS respectively.)

I was an early Kaspa investor, still love the $KAS but now we have $QUAI. TVL and programmability in a blockchain is everything for its success long term. $QUAI in imo will be the next big layer 1 proof of work blockchain. Going all in on $QUAI

Not a comparison, lots of wrong information about Kaspa. Loses credibility for the project imo if you label it as a comparison against false information. “I’m not an expert on Kaspa” yet claim you know more than the experts when they say they can add smart contracts
