Zelensky unveils 'victory plan' against Russia

Ukrainian President Zelensky has presented MPs with a long-awaited "victory plan" that aims to strengthen his country's position enough to end the war with Russia.

Zelensky told parliament in Kyiv that the plan could finish the war - which began with Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 - by next year.

Key elements include a formal invitation to join Nato, the lifting by allies of restrictions on long-range strikes on Russia, a refusal to cede more Ukrainian territory, and the continuation of the incursion into the Kursk region of Russia.

The Kremlin dismissed the plan with a spokesman saying Kyiv needed to "sober up".

Okay, let's look at it a bit more closely:
1. 'Inviting Ukraine to join Nato'
This will result in Russia fighting NATO. Nuclear war will be inevitable because Russia cannot defeat NATO in a conventional war.

2. 'The strengthening of Ukrainian defence against Russian forces, including getting permission from allies to use their long-range weapons on Russian territory, and the continuation of Ukraine's military operations on Russian territory to avoid creation of the "buffer zones" in Ukraine.'
Once Ukraine starts using western missiles on Russian targets, I believe Russia will respond with at least TNWs in Ukraine.

3. 'Containment of Russia via a non-nuclear strategic deterrent package deployed on Ukrainian soil.'
Ukraine has already lost a massive amount of territory and is losing more as the war progresses.

4. 'Joint protection by the US and the EU of Ukraine's critical natural resources and joint use of their economic potential.'
Doesn't seem to be doing much so far.

5. 'For the post-war period only: replacing some US troops stationed across Europe with Ukrainian troops.'
This is a non sequitur as it concerns winning the war.

There is only one realpolitik solution: Ukraine must become a neutral non NATO buffer zone, and NATO must stop its aggressive expansion on Russia's borders.

Why is he still talking invitation and join Nato? isn't that why the war started? Isn't it obvious yet... Russia doesn't want a new Nato build up a stone throw away from Moscow. It's just unfair on the people of Ukraine to see such loss while Zelensky making some sort of big man stance. When all this is over Zelensky has his fortune nicely setup in the US while his people just look at the rubble they got. We should help them defend and offer a mediation but not instigate any more escalation.

Zelensky looks like a madman. He felt like he was standing in the middle of a quagmire, the more he tried to struggle, the deeper he sank. Crazy about wanting to join NATO.
