When Lois discovered a once thriving historic nursery padlocked, redundant and in ruin, she made a silent promise to return the garden to its former glory for everyone to enjoy. Over the course of a 12-year journey the community – and Lois’s sheer determination - slowly brought the garden back to life. Today Bedfords Park Walled Garden is thriving and welcomes visitors, school children, community groups who enjoy its pleasures, produce and most of all gardening.

This film was produced as part of the Land of the Fanns Community Mapping project which trained local people in film making and storytelling skills. The films were made in summer 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Produced in partnership with Rosa Productions and Fete Day.
