TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Relations between the United States (US) and Russia became increasingly strained when the West decided to support Ukraine.

Even now Russia is planning to close the US embassy in its country and cut relations.

The US ambassador to Russia, John J Sullivan, urged Moscow not to close the US embassy.

Relations between the two countries are heating up, sparked by the war in Ukraine.

Sullivan said Monday (6/6/2022) that as the world's two largest nuclear powers, they must continue to be connected.

Sullivan was appointed US ambassador by President Donald Trump.

President Vladimir Putin has presented the invasion of Ukraine as a turning point in Russian history: a revolt against the hegemony of the United States, which the president says has humiliated Russia since the 1991 fall of the Soviet Union.

In an attempt to send a message to the Kremlin,

“We must preserve the ability to speak to each other,” Sullivan was quoted as saying.

Russia's Foreign Ministry has summoned the head of the US media bureau in Moscow to discuss on Monday what it said was the result of the US' unfriendly actions.

Relations between Moscow and Washington have not been broken off since the US established ties with the Soviet Union in 1933.

Recently, Russia has said that post-Soviet relations with the West have ended and will turn east.(*)

Agree. Good decision. It is better to close US Embassy in Moscow vice versa. 👍👍👍
