First time I see ReactOS on a real PC. Even the official ReactOS videos use VirtualBox, which is really assuring.

Hello from the ReactOS team! Thank you for the nice video! We want to mention that next ReactOS version 0.4.13 is about to be released in the next few days.

P.S. We will be very grateful for any donations to support our project. The project is being developed almost only on donations of private individuals.

This looks great. I always wanted a version of Windows less stable than Millenium.

Yes, you did it!
I love your videos because this reminds me of my endless experiments with PCs and reinstalling different OSes over and over. This was pure fun.
Stay awesome, Michael!

Michael I really liked this video. I haven't laughed that much since I got ill. I love "The 98 PC" videos. I can feel your frustration. Been there and done that many times. You would think that after 24 years they would have it together. At any rate keep plugging along my friend.

React OS whilst an interesting project has had little to no mass development in the years it's been around. There are plenty of better Linux and other operating systems that have just 1 developer and are in a stable state. I would like to see React OS go stable but they prefer to keep playing catch-up to the more and more things that run on Windows to run on React OS. If they simply made and took what they have now, made it stable without worrying about playing catch-up to Windows and then released a series of smaller updates that focus on compatibility then people can use it as a daily driver. Just a thought🤔🤔🤔

I was planning to try ReactOS 0.4.12 on a $5 Dell 531s I found at a Goodwill store... Glad I didn't after seeing this.

Installed MX 19.1 and changed the desktop from Xfce to Cinnamon. Works really nice, would be fun to see that on the $5 Windows 98 PC...!

When you were installing the Other PCI Device, it said that if you installed custom hardware, it could make the system unusable. Maybe that was the problem.

I actually had no problem installing React OS on my hardware. I'm afraid of removing it and installing another OS tho cause I'm afraid I won't get it to install again Dx.

The graphic driver issue may not be a ReactOS problem. I seem to remember that many of the old VESA ROMs from back in the day were very buggy. This would cause DOS games to go weird as well.

Wipes out your boot loader, blue-screens on boot?

Sounds like they've managed to pretty faithfully recreate Windows ;-)

Great video! I never tried this, and I wanted to see this. Thank you Michael!

Hey Michael, you said that you were having issues with the dual-booting when ReactOS was installed. I would recommend looking into the "BCDBoot" command, and trying to run that to recreate the bootloader for Windows 7 and Vista.
