Brända Barn (Burned Children), formed in 1979, altered their name to The Wild Bunch and later The Bunch in 1984. Brända Barn released a debut EP (1980) and a single, Män utan fruktan/ Cirkus (1982; Men Without Fear/ Circus), before they recorded Allt står i lågor (1983; Everything's On Fire). Arguably, with this powerful LP they became Sweden's most popular band in the live circuit. The pressure ultimately reached such hights in 1984, that Brända Barn had to stop in order to survive. They decided to do things differently, changed their name to The Wild Bunch (after a 1969 Western directed by Sam Peckinpah) and released Hey Hey, My My/ Korståg (Crusade).
