Tying Shoes Using The Bunny Ear Method

As an occupational therapist in the school district, I have the opportunity to help kids with fine motor deficits. Sometimes I get to help them work on tying their shoes. Using the "bunny ear" method has been by far the most effective way of teaching them. Some of these kids can pick it up in just a few attempts.

After years of the struggle of me being embarrassed, and googling COUNTLESS of times "how to tie my shoes", only being successful a number of times I can count with one hand; I couldn't replicate the joy of being able to tie my shoes.

Untill today!!! I finally did it!! I think it's caused people went "put the Bunny ear into the hole" and even if I asked them I never understood "WHERE IS THE HOLE???" but this explained it and now I have two neatly tied shoes done by my own hand :) thank you

Just learnt to tie my shoelaces from this video. It has taken me at least 20 different tutorials and a lot of effort but this one was able to get me there. I can't thank you enough as this has been something I have felt really insecure about for a long time but now I can proudly say I can tie my shoes

People tried to teach me this as a child and it never worked. I ended up learning how to tie my shoes by spending HOURS messing around with the laces until I finally figured out how to do it. I never realized how simple this was
