I always look for anti-gun signs for a completely different reason. I will not spend my money in any business that is anti-gun in any way.

Omw thing we can do as citizens is show these businesses that they need our business to survive. If they put up a no gun sign, trespass anyone carrying, or even make public statements that they do not want anyone to carry into their business we stop going to their business, spread the word they are anti gun and ask everyone that believes in the constitution to take their business elsewhere. Meijer out up signs and made a public statement in Ohio and they loss so much business they took their signs down. Everyone pro 2A needs to start speaking up. Our government is actively trying to get rid of 2A and they will not stop until they win unless citizens do something about it.

Next cross country drive I'll skip Texas. The fewer states that have confusing or convoluted laws regarding CC permits the better. There should be one sign with clear language that applies to permit holders.

So basically if you do or do not have a license, you must leave if told to. Thus "Constitutional carry" actually means nothing in such a case.

Right off the bat when constitutional carry went into effect, HEB posted 30:05. It's on glass and white letters. You can't even hardly see it just like the 30:07 signs HEB post. I'm fine with concealing and a business owners desire to keep weapons concealed, but I'm not OK with denying constitutional rights. I liked HEB but stopped shopping there 9-1-19. Market Street and United Grocery only post welcome signs. Even Walmart took all the stupid signs down. Sam's club still has some ignorant homemade crap at the door that was probably put up by the liberal manager.

It's funny how it's usually the same people that are against being told that they can't carry somewhere, and by definition are trespassing if they argue the point, are the same people who say they have the right to shoot someone on their property for trespassing.

Get a grip people. If you are told to leave, just shut up and leave. You would expect the same response from someone you told to leave your property or place of business.

Does a property owner business owner have the right to see a license to carry?
Someone who's in your business and claims to have a license to carry, do they have to prove it?

I see the " licensed " firearm sign posted at most Walmarts and it being not a 30.07 or a 30.06 posting, I was uncertain of its legality. So the 30.05 law, with a mighty broad brush affects Constitutional carry vs a person in, for example, Texas who went through the process of gaining a license to carry ( LTC ). The wording on the Walmart could suggest the gun itself is the thing the signage is referring to ie the licensed possession of a firearm. Surely with an organization as well healed as Walmart those in charge of the wording on the signage could have been more legally specific in its meaning. What would a licensed firearm be if indeed the signage is not that vague?

I have questions and I want to make sure that I checked all the boxes here I’m a first time homeowner and I’ve seen a lot of horror that people have gone through for an example adverse possessions, and squatters, and all of the whores you see from when people trespass my question is what proper signs do I need on my property like I know the best signs to use is dogs on premises, and no trespassing but what other signs can I post on my property to protect myself as a homeowner, my house is in a HOA and I will share those signs with HOA to make sure no neighbor can complain against signs on my property. It’s a nice quiet neighborhood but I don’t want to take chances. This house is almost a half $1 million and it’s my first home and for me send what people go through is enough to scare me and it’s intimidating because what if, someone does it to me as how other people have gone through with it? I want to avoid all of it so I’m hoping I can take the proper steps in the state of Texas to avoid any issues. It’s a one-story house and a HOA neighborhood HOA fees or 283 a quarter I don’t wanna give really no more details than what I have but I will be adding cameras to the front and the sides and back of the house. What am I allowed to do as a homeowner opposed to not allowed to do so I don’t find myself in legal trouble behind trespassers.? For an example and to install traps on my property as a warning? I’m not for hurting anyone, but I am for protecting myself my family and my home there’s a lot of glass around the house like the front door windows back door and that was a concern for me, but seeing where the house was and how the neighborhood is and the people in the neighborhood I don’t have no concern about that but in case, if drifters come along and my house is not the only one with a lot of glass, butI always like to be prepared so I do look forward. If you ever have a chance to read my comment please let me know.

Defense of the day: "That ban sign depicts a semi-auto pistol. My 357 is a revolver and there were no signs restricting those."

What nobody is talking about is that 30.05 references "firearms" when 30.06 and 30.06 signs were about "handguns." We now have the regulation of long guns. So before we could backpack an SBR, a rifle/long gun, but now we can't. This is now a huge thing.

So if there are no signs at all and someone with authority (store manager) asks you to leave, then effectively they are creating an instant warning sign for you even if you hold a LTC?

Where in the Texas DPS gun law hand book does it explicitly say that LTC holders can "ignore" the 30.05 sign?

I saw this sign at Texas restaurant two years ago
"The unlicensed possession of a weapon on these premises is a felony with a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine not to exceed $10, 000."

HEBs use to be 30:07. They now have 30.05 does this mean a licensed carrier can openly carry? Of course, assuming knowone ask us to leave.

A local store just has the 30.07 sign up and I had to explain to them that that sign alone doesn't stop a Constitutional Carry from walking in, just the LTC from open carrying.

You all should read Tex. Pen. Code § 30.05 (c) again. It does not allow for gun buster signs or the like to constitute written notice. The statute is clear enough to rule those out. Sad....truly sad...considering you are lawyers.

What level of authority does the employee need to be to tell you to leave? Can the store janitor tell you that you must leave? Is that enough? Or a cashier? Can you elaborate a little on this?

I think the 30.05 law is horrible and not only unconstitutional but just plan ignorance that some criminal is going to obey it.
