Josh Peck (How I Met Your Father, Drake & Josh) joins us this week to give a glimpse into the amazing, film-worthy stories he has inside his new book “Happy People Are Annoying.” Josh shares everything from the thought of having to grieve what he never had after the loss of his father, to the truth behind the media storm fallout that came from his wedding day and those who didn’t get invited. We also talk about the idea of endless voids that we try to fill with vices, his experience as a child stand up comic, and the difference between public opinion and what goes on behind the scenes within a cast.

As a kid, I was so upset when I learned Drake and Josh was canceled. One of my favorites of all time and even now as a 21 year old I still go back and watch it through every now and again. Just imagine how much farther they could have taken the series.

Peck was always a cool guy, and as an adult he is a really likable guy. He was good in ATM and Mean Creek and has just been around for awhile. A real down to Earth guy in my book.

He was my favorite character in Drake and Josh. Always felt like Josh was robbed whenever Drake won the best actor award.

Watching the show back, it’s pretty clear Josh carried it.

I find it so interesting that in Drake and Josh, Drake was always considered the cool guy who everyone wanted to be around while Josh was overlooked due to being nerdy and geeky. Now years have passed and Josh is the one that everyone loves and wants to be around while people are justifiably angry over what Drake has done. I think the reason for this is because Josh didn't let his fame define who he is a person. When Drake and Josh ended, Josh was able to move on because he knew his worth and didn't need fame as his identity. Drake who was always modeled as a man born to be a star couldn't move on after he peaked at drake and josh and as such fame corrupted a lot of his character and he has since made some horrible choices as a result. It just shows that a true man doesn't rely on greatness to define him, his character defines him and that is what makes him great.

Was never a fan of his acting skills, until I watched The Wackness. He absolutely killed that role, been a fan since.

Same with Miranda getting her own show. Then Jeanette sharing a show with Ariana.

Wow his voice hasn’t changed. Also him being Josh made me feel comfortable being overweight so I appreciate him.

He was right in the late 90’s and early 00’s there was so many sitcoms and cartoons where there’s a overweight best friend of the main character or the overweight bully

I remember when he first started losing the weight, I was glad to see he was still just as funny. It might sound messed up but I wasn't sure how much him being "The fat funny" guy had to be his thing. I felt like the show just got funnier as it went on. There was something about he two of them together. It was golden. I was in my 20s btw and didn't watch all the kid shows at the time.

In my head, as a kid, it was clear to me Josh was the one with the most talent and passion. I would actually argue with friends that Josh was the actual main character.

I can’t imagine josh as a full grown man. He even sounds the same. He’s permanently Josh Nichols to me.

When he said “fridge with the ice dispenser” it sounded so much like something he would’ve said on the show. That’s what made Drake & Josh great. Just two dudes who acted like their authentic self.

My favorite part of the Drake and Josh show was towards the end where Drake apologizes to Josh. Throughout the show, Drake is presented/wants to be presented as the cool, dependable brother. However, as the show goes on, especially after Josh loses the weight, you realize that the cool dependable person has actually always been Josh, and Drake knows this. It eats away at him and creates a huge insecurity. This all comes out in the episode where Drake lets his emotions out and admits that he's inferior to Josh. This is huge character development because you've never seen Drake like this EVER.

"They called this guy, Dan Schneider..."
Yeah, Josh, I think we're all intimately familiar with Dan Schneider at this point.
