Building a Rocking Chair… My Best Work?

Показать описание

This is was one of the most challenging woodworking projects I have done yet, which resulted in some of my best work to date. After working through multiple prototypes to make the perfect design for this rocking chair, I used traditional mortise and tenon joinery and am more than happy with how the rocking chair turned out.

Made entirely of Sapele and accented with square peg and bowtie spline made of Wenge, this rocking chair woodworking project will be a highlight piece in my living room for a long time!

Some youtubers would make a 7 part series out of a chair like this. Kudos for the timelapses.

Really lovely chair and video. I always enjoy watching you combine traditional and modern techniques as you work. They're really not so different, just different tools. The result is always something special. Thanks for sharing!

Greene and Greene meets Sam Maloof. Very beautiful work! Love that guilty look at the end when you got caught.

Man, Gods gift to woodworking. You never cease to blow my mind. I've been with you since "Risen" woodworks. Your work is always so inspirational. There is nothing you are afraid to tackle. Stellar craftsmanship.

Very nice !!! I really like the inclusion of the Dutchmen that adds both a structural and aesthetic quality to the piece. You are indeed a true 'maker'. My late father was a master cabinet maker and I am sure he would have approved.

Very beautiful piece of craftsmanship that will in all likelihood stand long after we're gone; one of those masterful and practical pieces that reflect the best of who we are as people in this time. Thanks!

This just bumped your reverse live edge dining table as the best build I've seen. Your talent is completely in a league of its own.

Beautiful chair - but I can think of two of your items which I prefer. The URN was positively amazing and so so touching. Also the jewellery box you made for your darling wife was truly spectacular. Thanks for the vid mate.

You make it look so easy Jesse, that's the sign of a true craftsman.
I met Sam Maloof in California when his woodshop was still down the road from where the compound is now, they move his whole compound thats on the national registry because of the highway coming thru. His Rocker is world famous.
Jesse, you are in his league. Your craftsmanship on all you build is extraordinary! Keep building, keep imagining, and keep pushing your limit, we all want to watch what you are doing next
