A video has been released showing the heartwarming moment a group of Maasai Men were left in hysterics after trying out Snapchat filters for the first time.

Fashion stylist and photographer Kate Katumbi, 22, from Sydney, Australia, was visiting the Maasai Mara reserve in Kenya in 2019, when she shared a special moment with the local inhabitants.

Kate, who was on a solo trip around Africa, decided to play with the Snapchat filters to break the ice with the Maasai people she had met.

In a heartwarming video, the men are seen bursting with laughing as they look at the screen and observe their faces appearing deformed.

I love how "your face looks weird and dumb"

This goes to show that all humans are fundamentally the same. Even if our culture is different, our clothes and homes may be different, or even if our faces may be different, we are all equally human.

Lo que me agrada es que la chica no fue a burlarse de su tribu si no a enseñarles algo de la tecnología actual con toda buena intención de sacarles una sonrisa :)

One of the many reasons I want to go into anthropology is this video. One of the most purest forms of expression is the very joy these tribesman get from things like SC filters. Something we take for granted and kinda have a love hate relationship with (due to overuse), is something amazing to a person living in a place that can be harsh like Africa.

If there’s anything we could learn from this, is that something we take for granted can be a source of joy and laughter to another person.

Maasai people from Kenya
Not “African tribe”
Africa is a continent. Not a country
