Ibn Al-Qayyim says in his famous book in Ad-Daa’ wad-Dawaa’, “Look at the accuracy of the Quranic expression in the order to lower the gaze, as if Allah The Almighty reminds us that not lowering the gaze causes the doom of the doer and his suffering in this life and in the Hereafter. Failing to lower one’s gaze is the basis for the problems that afflict man. An unlawful look generates thoughts, then thoughts generate ideas, then ideas generate desires, then desires generate will, which develops into resolve and determination, then the action inevitably takes place if there is nothing to prevent it.”

Alhamdulilah never struggled to lower my gaze. As a guy it can be very tempting, but I always succeed. I know that failing at lowering my gaze would result in lower value of myself in my eyes. As well as the person I am looking at. But besides these motivations I want to make Allah proud.

I feel like it would be weird not to look at them while talking, but i want to hear someone elses opinion. Also, what about male teachers? Im a girl but I'm bisexual i know thats haram btw im trying to lower my gaze for both genders.other thing that i would like to say that makes it easy to lower gaze is fasting. Im trying to fast every mondays and Thursday. And it actually helps a lot. When you fast and you remind yourself today i cant eat or drink because of im fasting that instantly help me remind my self that allah is watching me and its like this even when you interact with other people you are more selfaware of allah and sins that you are trying to overcome.i wont say there isnt going to by any more temptation since you see people almost everyday but it feels much more easier and different when you are not fasting. May allah accept our efforts and forgive our sins
