You saying "one and a half" more than once. Actually it is only one half... 1/2 or 0.5.

Leave the numerator as such and calculate only the denominator. Which is 50% = 1/2. So, 500% / (1/2) equals 500% * 2 = 1000%

I don't think the way you presented 500% of 50% is right. Percentage signs will cancel each other in the form how it is presented leaving 10 as a result.
