Sadly the “world record” doesn’t mean shit if he sinks the cue ball. 6 ball break is definitely impressive but those 6 balls become meaningless, otherwise known as “dead balls” once you scratch.

This is nothing I played at a place called Grovers in West Palm Beach and Steve Mazerac broke the balls sunk seven balls on the break and was hooked by the nine! This is a true story!

Ultimately, this means less than sinking the 8 ball and not scratching on break. In the rules that I’ve played with, if you sink the 8 ball on break, you win unless you scratch.

I think the best break ive ever seen was by Billy Thorpe no scratch either. A great break isn't one if you scratch.

I once made 3 stripes and 6 solids on a break and I had the 5 ball for a duck in the side and left myself perfect on the 8...
I slammed both of those shots and the game was over in less than 20 seconds... people were talking about the 9 balls on the break, but I was thinking that it had to be the fastest game of 8 ball ever, without making the 8 on the break or an opponent slopping the 8 in on accident...
