same technology lives within Waldorf: Wave series, Blofeld ... and although I don't like soft synths, Waldorf has a soft version of the PPG.... as another replier refers to the Ensoniq ESQ -1, In my personal opinion the Waldorf Microwave XT and Microwave XTk run circles around the ESQ-1 with overall sound and deepness on architecture

PPG became Waldorf, PPG was the company of Wolfgang Palm (PPG= Palm Products GmbH) - Wolfgang Palm was not so much a businessman as more an artist - so later the distributor of PPG started Waldorf... btw, I heard somewhere Wolfgang Palm worked with Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze with early custom synths, , PPG is not really dead it exists as Waldorf, the PPG 2.2 and 2.3 fairly well exist as The Wave, the Wave series and especially the Microwave XT- ... and Blofeld

@liverawkstar My ESQ 1 weeps from nearing this. All KB's have their strengths. The ESQ really excells when making CS80 style sounds. Not as complex a waveform set I'm sure as the PPG but really warm filters. That is it's strongest point. The PPG sounds great too. Never saw a synth that was completely worthless although a couple have come close. :<)
