Review: Robus RTH-1050 - A Fantastic Tripod Head!

If you are looking for a high-quality, well-built ball head for photography check this one out. Robus entered the tripod and head market a couple of years ago and continues to offer some of the best products in the industry.

This head is smooth, locks tightly, and has a large easy to adjust friction knob. It is pricey at $400 but if you are someone who needs a tripod for your genre of photography, this could be the perfect one.

The Robus RTH-1050 uses the Arca-Swiss style of quick-release plate making it compatible with a large array of custom plates for different cameras and lenses.

My only complaint is the included bag is low quality, and the included plate could be made of higher quality metal. Other than that, this is a fantastic large ball head for serious photographers needing a large, strong tripod head.

Thanks for the video! Just ordered this head AND the Robus RC-5558 Tripod ... can't wait to FINALLY have a decent setup. Cheers!

Forrest, I just purchased both the Robus 5558 with the RTH-1050 ball head and love them both. They're pretty bomb-proof. Question: Given that you're not particularly impressed with the plate that comes with the RTH-1050, what make/model would you suggest in place of it? My primary camera is a Sony a6700.
