This dude is right, when i started playing, i learned a few scales and speed comes with practice, once i had it down, the speed just comes. These litrle riffs, scales etc really do make you a better guitar player. Start slow and after awhile your shredding and you dont even know how you got there!!

The accents on 2 and then later on 4 were kicking my tail.... Solved it with inflection in my counting. With the traditional one-ee-and--aa counting I emphasized where I needed to accent in the count.
For the twos: one-EEE!-and-aa, two-EEE!-and-aaa, etc
For the fours: one-ee-and---AAA!. two-ee-and-AAA!, etc

This really helped me out when I applied this approach.

I quit playing for years because someone stole all my musical equipment, but I recently got a new Ibanez and a nice amp head to go with a Randall cab my friend gave me. I found your channel shortly after and watching your videos make me want to play 24/7, which is slowly making me a better guitar player. Looking forward to more Lessons with Jon for sure. Just wanted to say I love all the content!

Ola I'm quite thankful to have found your channel! I started playing guitar in the early 90's but just sucked. Life has kept me away from practice for a long time but you have inspired me to pick up my dusty guitars buy a new amp and try to play again. Thank you dude! Thanks for everything from will it chug to this you are quite amazing!

9:42 that shoe lace example is spot on and we can all relate to it!
10:00 then Ola suggests opposite approach of going as fast as you can then fix your technique

best of two worlds

One of the best lessons EVER! I can really see where this will help me better visualize the fretboard all over the place!

I havent moved beyond acoustic since I started playing guitar 5 years ago. In between, I didnt touch a single guitar for like 3 years. Recently, I got one acoustic and am practicing strumming and picking, being really patient since I want to get my first electric guitar. Thanks for this video OLA!
