NASH: a major public health issue, and a growing concern

"NASH: a major public health issue, and a growing concern" is the first video from a series of six videos on NASH Diagnosis produced by The NASH Education Program™.

In this first video, you will learn more about the vital role of the liver in the body, as well as about a disease growing globally in association with obesity and type 2 diabetes epidemics: NASH, or non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.

In the second part of this video, you will see the progression of the disease from a healthy liver to a liver with steatosis and necro-inflammation, the driving force of the disease, leading to fibrosis and ultimately to life-threatening ouctomes such as cirrhosis or liver cancer - both requiring a liver transplant - or cardioscular disease.

As a daughter of a victim of NASH in 2015 I am thankful for the program and the educational video series. Since my mom's death 7/31/15 I have spent almost every single day trying to educate the public on NAFLD NASH through the opportunity ALF has given me as a volunteer. I participate in health fairs, the Liver Walk and anything and educational speaking where I always take the opportunity to tell my mom's story. Thank you for the video and I look forward to good things from this group and program.
