Earlier this year, pianist Alice Sara Ott became the face of the Apple Music Classical app when she starred in its launch video, performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 15 with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and its Chief Conductor Karina Canellakis. The recording of it now becomes the headline work in Ott’s latest Deutsche Grammophon album, Beethoven. The pianist has paired it with a series of solo works, including “Für Elise” and the “Moonlight” Sonata.

…most probably the gentlest interaction and most touching with piano keys i’ve ever witnessed and enjoyed…
Its hard to describe the emotions she commands with such mastery
She becomes one with her instrument and her fingers an extension

Simply stated : ‘wonderful’, ‘exstatic’

The warm and wooden sound of that Steinway fits so well!

The interpretation of this piece is a perfect example of why I love listening to piano music so much. I mean, at 2:03 - 2:08 my brain was like and her dynamics throughout the piece were on-point with the rhythm.

Her hands float over the keys. If you look closely, she doesn't actually touch the keys. They just get out of the way.

I heard her Le Gibet, and knew her Fur Elise would be lovely. I was right.
Sounds as though she is trying not to wound the keys.

Beautiful.
But only a man can play this piece properly, Only a man lives the reality of a Beast tamed by Beauty.
