Correction: the capital of Israel is Jerusalem, not Tel Aviv.
There is no capital of Palestine because there has NEVER been a 'Palestinian State'. Ever.
When Israel has been occupied by outsiders, the capital was NEVER Jerusalem, but far away in places like Damacus or Cairo or Istanbul. ONLY the Jews have chosen Jerusalem as their capital over the past 3000 years. Again, Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Get used to it.

Most of the Middle East is in Asia. Yes. ASIA. Egypt is in Africa, except for Sinai. A sliver of Turkey is in Europe. But Asian is Asian. From Israel to Japan. Very diverse in all ways.

The Middle East is not a continent so you did not have to say the "Surrounding continents are Africa, Asia and Europe" because the region is literally situated on parts of all three continents. It includes countries in West Asia, Europe and Africa. Egypt making the African part of the Middle East and Turkey making the Eurasian part of the Middle East. The rest of the region is situated in Asia, Western Asia to be specific, meaning the Arabian Peninsula, the Levant, Iraq, Iran, Cyprus and Israel are all in the Asian continent. The Middle East is a transcontinental geopolitical region that is not confined to a single continent and it sits on, and intersects with Africa, Asia and Europe.

The Middle East is not dependent on a shared continent. It is a transcontinental geopolitical region that is based on shared culture, politics and History rather than a shared continent. Having a shared continent is not the criterium for the region. The origins of the region precedes its western given names and terminologies. It was a division conducted by medieval Arab historians and Geographers such as Ibn Khaldun to divide the two halves of the Arab world based on the cultural differences between the Western Berber Maghreb region(Libya, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco) from the Eastern Mashriq part of the Arab world(Egypt, Levant, Arabian Peninsula and Iraq) and when the Europeans came along in the 19th century, they created the newer terms for the same region(Middle East/Near East/the Orient) and towards the 19th and 20th century they added the non Arab countries(Cyprus, Turkey, Israel, and Iran) . The word “Mashriq” means “where the sun rises” in Arabic and it refers to the Eastern part of the Arab world while the word “Maghreb” means “where the Sun sets”, referring to the western part of the Arab world.
