Today I get to test how long the Greenworks dual stage blower will go a single charge using all three battery bays. It's a work horse!

Before I was retired, I used to shovel my 100' long driveway by hand. Now I just look out the window, comment about how pretty the snow is, and go back to bed 😂.

Toros two stage snow blower takes up to 3 batteries as well

Snow blowers totally use more energy because they move snow much higher. 😁

Thanks do you know if they have this snow blower for an 80v or would 80v batteries fit the 60v?

I just got the 80V one (2 stage) and I am wondering about the best height of the side shoes, between shovelling the most without leaving a layer under the scraper and at the same time avoid hitting the inerlock gaps ... did you find the sweet spot to make the best out of it? I am missing the one stage (greenwoks 80v 22" ) where I didn't have this suggestion?

I also feel it jumps a bit while shovelling, not so smooth but i noticed it's the same in your video so it doesn't self propelled smoothly like the ones I see in the videos

Thinking of getting this for my 4 car driveway, would it be overkill? My biggest issue s the pile of snow I get blocking my driveway from the street clearing people, hopefully this unit would be better at attacking that pile

Do you know if there is any 3rd party shear pins that can replace greenworks ones? They are usually sold out on greenworks website.

Nice review. I have just purchased the same one.
One has to be patient with heavy wet snow. There is no super snow blower for regular consumer unless it is a heavy duty commercial one. One should plow the heavy wet snow slowly.

Let me tell you a bedtime story.
"Long long" time ago in a place "far far" away, a farmer hides 3 monkeys with "eye sight" problem to take care of 3 groups of horses with 20 horses in each group. One day, he wants them to pull one very large loaded wagon to a place not far from the farm.
At the last minute, he decides to use only 2 monkeys and 2 groups of horses to do the job. The result is that some of the horses end up sick or dying due to overwork.
What is the moral of the story? If the farmer has used all 3 groups of horses to do the job, everyone will live happily ever after.
"The end"

Can anyone guess why the monkeys have "eye sight" problem?

In our case, the horses are the individual batteries. The monkey is the BMS (Battery Management System) in each battery module. The very large loaded wagon is the snow.
Probably, all BMS circuitries from all companies are not designed to be smart. A smart BMS combining with a smart charger would have charged each battery equally during charging period to prolong the life span of each battery.

By the way, one of the reason why these li-ion batteries INR18650-20R or 25R don't last after a few years is because of over heating during the discharging period (i.e. plowing the snow). The key is to keep these batteries from over heating by placing the auger at slow speed and keeping drive speed at a minimum.

I just bought one but it will not work on our wet, heavy snow here on Vancouver Island. It bogs down and the auger gets plugged and the machine shuts down...even with only two inches of snow!! Do not recommend if you are using it in heavy wet snow conditions.
