Dr. Collins Hodges discusses his ways of helping families and children with behavioral management, which revolves around changing negative behaviors. HIs goals are to promote healthy relationships and healthy families. It's important to first target any stressors that children with behavioral problems might have, then to discuss with the parents how they give consequences to the resulting negative behaviors. It is just as important for children to regularly be recognized and reinforced for their positive behaviors. Parents and children should both feel good about their interactions with each other. Establishing trust and understanding why the child behaves in certain ways is vital to behavioral management. A core component is to create a behavioral contract in which there is an outline for success that can regularly be checked on.

I have a problem, every time I get mad I can’t really control myself and I kick, throw, and scream.
And then I switch to sad or happy all of the sudden
