Star Wars is an American epic space opera multimedia franchise created by George Lucas, which began with the eponymous 1977 film and quickly became a worldwide pop culture phenomenon.

The Star Wars franchise depicts the adventures of characters "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away", in which humans and many species of aliens (often humanoid) co-exist with robots (typically referred to in the films as 'droids'), who may assist them in their daily routines; space travel between planets is common due to lightspeed hyperspace technology. The planets range from wealthy, planet-wide cities to deserts scarcely populated by primitive tribes. Virtually any Earth biome, along with many fictional ones, has its counterpart as a Star Wars planet which, in most cases, teem with sentient and non-sentient alien life. The franchise also makes use of other astronomical objects such as asteroid fields and nebulae. Spacecraft range from small starfighters, to huge capital ships such as the Star Destroyers, to space stations such as the moon-sized Death Stars. Telecommunication includes two-way audio and audiovisual screens, holographic projections, and HoloNet (internet counterpart).

The universe of Star Wars is generally similar to ours but its laws of physics are less strict allowing for more imaginative stories. One result of that is a mystical power known as the Force which is described in the original film as "an energy field created by all living things ... [that] binds the galaxy together". The field is depicted as a kind of pantheistic god. Through training and meditation, those whom "the Force is strong with" exhibit various superpowers (such as telekinesis, precognition, telepathy, and manipulation of physical energy). It is believed nothing is impossible for the Force. The mentioned powers are wielded by two major knightly orders at conflict with each other: the Jedi, peacekeepers of the Galactic Republic who act on the light side of the Force through non-attachment and arbitration, and the Sith, who use the dark side by manipulating fear and aggression. While Jedi Knights can be numerous, the Dark Lords of the Sith (or 'Darths') are intended to be limited to two: a master and their apprentice.

Ahsoka Tano was a female Togruta who was a Force-sensitive outcast from the Jedi Order. After the Clone Wars, she helped establish a network of various rebel cells against the Galactic Empire. Tano was discovered on her homeworld of Shili by Jedi Master Plo Koon, who brought her to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to receive Jedi training. Following the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Jedi Grand Master Yoda assigned the young Tano to be the Padawan learner of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, who nicknamed her "Snips" when she joined him at the Battle of Christophsis. Whereas Tano was eager to prove herself, Skywalker had a reputation for recklessness, and they had a rather difficult start as master and apprentice. Yet they worked together to rescue Rotta, the son of crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure, and returned Rotta to his father, thus facilitating a crucial alliance between the Hutt Clan and the Galactic Republic.

As a commander in the Grand Army of the Republic, Tano found a mentor in Clone Captain Rex of the 501st Legion, with whom she and Skywalker collaborated to lead frontline campaigns against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. In her first command position at the Battle of Ryloth, Tano disobeyed orders and lost her entire squadron of pilots, but she rebounded and helped secure a victory at Ryloth. Her assignments pitted her against a variety of opponents, from General Grievous and Sith apprentice Asajj Ventress to bounty hunters such as Cad Bane and Aurra Sing. Over time, she matured into a respected leader, contributing to key Republic victories like the Second Battle of Geonosis and the Battle of Mon Cala. Tano even died during a series of events on Mortis, but the Daughter, a Force wielder who personified the light side, sacrificed herself to resurrect Tano and bring her back to life.

The Shien stance that Ahsoka took on in that duel is perfect.

I know what the probleem with these fights was! The speed an the camera work. If they did more with the camera these fights would have looks and felt slot better like the acolyte fights.

The lightsaber fights were good but what Star Wars needs to do is bring back Nick Gillard

im ngl, im surprised to hear they practiced with a fight coordinator

i feel like the majority of disney star-wars (live action) makes the saber fights very...sluggish

Even tho i disliked the lightsabre fights in this show, they aren't wrong! I recently watched Dooku Vs Anakin in AotC and they both also used that stance.

I loved Ahsoka and loved Rosario playing the character but at times I felt the Lightsaber fights to be slow and predictable. Just my opinion :)

They should bring back Nick Gillard to do the lightsaber duels moving forward. Disney Star Wars duels so far have felt clunky, heavy, and boring.

I don’t know if I’d call it samurai. I know there is samurai cinema influence but In actual samurai fighting there are very few moves. It’s all about killing your opponent with as little motions as possible and there is very little wasted motion or flashiness. Also not many samurais used two swords. I think that they did a great job but I just wouldn’t call it samurai.

Drives me nuts that she holds her Hilt backwards. The whole point of a curved Hilt is to get torqued into the swing. That's why modern-day hammers are curved. She's holding it backwards, if she holds the blade out, that's a defensive technique with a straight hilt. She would never actually hit anything with her style

He'd say huh. That's the entire basis for the jedi in the first place.

Thank God Kathleen Kennedy didn't ruin this show, fire her already.

For the most part, the Fighting was one of the best parts of Ahsoka opposed to some other shows that Disney has rolled out.
