Imagine your Dragonborn character sitting at home, old and retired. Suddenly a Dremora kicks in your door and steals all your Deadric artifacts for the next MC to find.

Azura: I doubt you have the hundred years to wait…

My dunmer: pretty sure I do…

the Nerevarine only having all of his cool artifacts for like at most six years 💀

What really boggles my mind is thr Staff of Magnus. In Morrowind, it's recovered by the Nerevarine, but jusy 200 years later during the events of Skyrim, a Dragon Priest/Lich has supposedly had it for ages.

The existence of the Daedric Artifacts existing in both Morrowind and Oblivion does cause some messy timeline shenanigans, as they do take place simultaneously. This is seen in Morrowind's beginning when Caius Cosades leaves Vvardenfell because of news of Emperor Uriel Septum VII's assassination.

Dragonborn on a horde of artifacts laughing maniacally

It'd be funny if in es6 the quest to get one of the daedric artifacts has you go through a dungeon filled with dragon and hermaeus mora related things, and at the end you'd have to get past a spectral Lydia who is blocking the door to the artifact.

It would be a cool drawback of the daedric artifacts in skyrim if some lore related enemy came back from time to time to try and reclaim or steal the artifact back from you if you were carrying them .

It’ll be interesting to see if Azusa’s star returns in TES 6, only due to the option to make it the black star and cut it off from Azura entirely. I’m guessing they’ll just say the canon story is the Dragonborn chose not to create the black star and cleansed it instead.

Never you go into the Dovakins lair and pry it from the walls of his fortress and hope he is away

Meridian's beacon is sentient and starts hiding in different chests.

Unless someone, or a group of someone’s, specifically goes out of their way to prevent that.

They have to be exceedingly powerful, but there are occasions where Daedra need to get loyal helpers to free their stuff from places because it’s been hidden from them.

There are characters who take things and just, go, keeping them out of reach as long as they live, and sometimes making certain that they can remain hidden beyond that.

People like Sotha Sil are capable of this, and that magical guy, peer of Sotha Sil, in ESO, he’s always grabbing dangerous daedric things and popping off somewhere to hide them for a few millennia.

I'm wondering if we might see the dragonborn on the next Elder scrolls.

I know what you're thinking "but it's probably going to be thousands of years in the future". But the dragonborn has a soul of a dragon. Meaning he'll never truly die unless is killed by another dragon. So with that in mind their body will probably fade, but they might become a spirit in the next Elder scrolls.

I like to think it usually happens because the main character from each game died and the daedric princes have just reclaim their items and given it to another person that way the next protagonist can go and find it

Wait, so why was The Thieves Guild hit with a luck debuff if The Daedra would get The Skeleton Key back anyway?

More likely the artifacts are past down by lineage, sought after, transferred between shrines, entombed, or fought for over hundreds of years between the games timelines. Some may fade away until given to the protagonist by the daedrics themselves. There's no evidence that a daedric artifact has ever faded away. They're always found, given or taken back by the daedra.
