4 years later: the design line grew on me quickly. the engine is wonderful stock (but you can mod it way up), and the seats, interior trim, etc. are fabulous. I smile every day getting to drive this car (mine in GBP: Galaxy Blue Pearl) and it still looks modern + classy. My favorite car I've ever had besides my NA1 NSX.

Am I the only one who likes the way it looks? It's really nice looking + this is the absolute baddest wrx yet.

This looks a million times better looking than the past gen.  Looking forward to getting behind the wheel of one of these.

Seeing as the classic boxer rumble was edited in for this ad, I think Subaru knows what really sells these cars. Have they always looked good? No. Have they struggled with handling at times? Yes. But damn it, you could always count on a Subaru to sound amazing!

Thank you for having a thumbnail that actually represents the video.

This is awesome, I got my 05 wrx brand new and I've stuck with it since, but man this is actually making me want to trade in...

The new subie actually looks pretty good. They did a good job

Ironic how they edited in the "rumble" despite equaling out the headers, which would in turn actually eliminate said "rumble."

Here in the Philippines, me and my dad are going to get the very first Subaru WRX on April 2014. ;)

What the hell is wrong with people nowadays? This doesn't look like the new Corolla. Has anyone here seen the new Corolla? Obviously not if they think this looks like one. This is the WRX version. It is and always has been rally-capable and that isn't changing. Just because they're introducing a CVT to have the option avaliable to those that can't drive a stick for whatever reason (possibly injured, missing an arm, etc) doesn't mean it's going to be the only trans avaliable. Both the WRX and STi will come standard with 6-speed Manual gearboxes. Why is the hood scoop more recessed? Because aerodynamics are important! Why is there no "rally wing"? Because this is the WRX! When has a WRX had a large wing? Never, that's when. This design isn't agressive? You need to give up your man card. The WRX concept was a concept, it never had an engine or gearbox, it was simply an engineering study.

People need to pull their thumbs out of their asses, stop calling themselves Subaru fans when they're really Evo guys, and shut the hell up! Go comment on the 2015 Evo...oh that's right, the new Evo is a Hybrid...

I'm so glad I bought my 2014 sedan.  When I saw the concept, knew right then that Subaru was heading in the wrong direction.  2011-2014 are the best looking WRXs I have seen.  The new generation WRX closely resembles a civic.

The technological advancements in this car are absolutely great, they really stepped up in terms of quality/power. With that being said, I just can't seem to grasp myself around the overall shape of the car. It has this econo-box feel...Maybe it's the way the cabin makes up most of the car, with a dinky rounded off trunk, or it's the large gap between the donut sized tires, and the tire well. I think with some more aggressive tires/rims the car would be more appealing. We'll just have to wait and see until some people get their hands on it, and really show its potential. Until then, I hope the STI stays closer to home with the concept.

Now that's how to drive a WRX/STi. I recently bought a 2015 WRX STi Launch Edition with a manual transmission and it's a great driver's car. Driving the STi like a madman on bumpy backroads, as I frequently do, I'm too busy having fun to notice that the interior is just okay. For the price, the STi is a great performance car. No, it isn't a refined luxury sports sedan from Lexus - thank goodness. There are too many comfy, wanna-be sports sedans with soft suspensions and an automatic-only transmission (like the lame Audi S-3 that is automatic-only, here in the United States). The STi, the Evo 10 (my previous car), and the Ford Focus ST (my other car) are capable rally cars that are really fun to drive! If you actually like driving fast and aren't trying to impress your neighbors with a sleek, stylish fashion statement - buy an STi with a manual transmission. Buy an STi and enjoy driving it before every car turns into comfy cruiser like Audi and BMW have become or, just as awful, before every car turns into a joyless appliance like the Nissan Leaf or Prius.

Stop complaining. We all did this back in 2011 when that WRX came out. Stahp. With a different set of wheels & some Rally Armors, this thing will look awesome. You'll see.

the evo is basically a true enthusiast car, mitsubishi listened to the drivers and made changes to accommodate the driver! subaru should do the same
