300 is one of the purest Lovestorys. When you sumarize all the scenes they were together, then you will see, that HE was always asking HER for permission: 1. before he was kicking the persian delegate into this hole, at first he looked at her.
2. when he came back form the ephors, she told him what to do. 3. even in his last moments he was not thinking about his 300 men, his last thoughts were dedicated to his queen, his wife and his love and then he died. Basically he died for freedom and honor but if you look close enough, he died for love!!
