Scratching the tail base - two types of cats

Tom is a neutered cat who absolutely loves scratching his tail base, while calico cat Bela is a spayed cat who just hates it.

The most important thing to remember is that a cat decides what their human can or can't do with them. One cat might like getting these scratches, another one probably won't; one cat likes getting their nose touched, another one doesn't. Your cat will give you obvious signals, and this kind of video is the best showcase of that ☺❤

Most my cats have liked being scratched and stroked near their tails but Cleo does not like her tail touched growls and me if I try again she will swipe at my hands. It has nothing to do with being former ferals. Oska liked to be stroked from the tip of her nose to the tip of her fluffy tail. Cats decide what they like or do not like and show us in their own way.

But some become very aggressive when you scratch that spot!

From what I know, the reason why most of the cats react when being pet there, is becouse there is a high concentration of nerve endings located just above the tail, which causes the area to be more sensitive. Some cats find that more pleasurable, some cats dislike being pet there, and some cats may not react at all.
