What is Big Data University?

Our Mission
As a society we cannot let the benefits of analysis, data science and potential learnings from Big Data pass us by because of a lack of people with skills in this area.

At IBM we are strong proponents of providing opportunities to learn the fundamental concepts required to develop, process, and analyze big data and break down the traditional barriers to participation in this sector.

The Big Data University, an IBM community initiative, is not like other on-line training sites. Our content is free, access to tool sets used within the courses is free, and we have designed our courses to be accessed at your pace based on your priorities.

We are serious about making a difference. We call it @YourPace, @YourPlace education.

If it is free, why Coursera offering it for $39 per month same course, is it any different? because if it is free why should I pay Coursera?
