Data Privacy Act Question no. 2 : What is considered sensitive personal information under the Data Privacy Act?

Answer: Sensitive personal information, as defined by the Data Privacy Act, includes the following:

Information about an individual's race, ethnic origin, marital status, age, color, and religious, philosophical, or political affiliations. Information about an individual's health, education, genetic or sexual life, or any criminal offenses committed or alleged to have been committed by the person, as well as the outcomes of legal proceedings related to such offenses. Government-issued information specific to an individual, such as social security numbers, health records (past or present), licenses (including denials, suspensions, or revocations), and tax returns. Information classified as sensitive by an executive order or an act of Congress.
