In this video, we dive into the dark side of the NBA and ask an important question: is the league really on the brink of decline? Over the past few years, basketball has become more and more commercialized, and many fans feel that the original values of the game are being lost. Casual viewers are starting to complain about the lack of true sports experiences and how big contracts and business deals are overshadowing the game itself. We also discuss the issue of hyper-democratization, where superstars dictate terms and leave teams to form new "super teams." This leads to a loss of competition and a decrease in interest in traditional clubs. Additionally, we’ll talk about how the flow of money from TV rights and advertising deals is affecting the quality and development of the game. We'll explore what the NBA is losing and how the situation might change in the future.

Young kids dont care about sports. Old fans loosing interest, worrying about life

1. First thing is league wide memo to refs disallow techs for small hand gestures or emotes from players. Only clear acts of physical altercation or actions leading to it.
2. more nationally televised games and one or less hubs to watch all the games
3. allow handchecking or more perimeter defense leniency which will reduce 3pt volume and blowouts & increase defensive intensity
4. disincentivize owners from load management star athletes and restructuring the league and cba to where players are incentivized to play more games, less ability for players to move around by both teams and players to increase rivalries and allstar weekend intensity
5. no using the nba as a platform for political endorsement

I'd add a complete and total disdain for the fans themselves from ALL parties. Things like the All Star game, All Conference, Player of the Week/Month, etc were never intended for the players. Those are things the fans can celebrate, even when their team has lost 10 straight and has zero chance at the title. The problem is... fans no longer hold any sway, period. The top vote getter in the All Star race didn't even get a spot as a reserve in the All Star game. Quite literally, the event created for the league to celebrate THE FANS no longer gives a single fuck about the feedback of the fans. None of these teams, owners, players, anyone would be making a fucking penny if the fans weren't showing up and tuning in and they have all forgotten that. So when this current TV deal expires and EVERYONE is having to take a massive pay cut due to the terrible ratings, they only have themselves and Lebron to blame.

And yes, it all starts with the guy that refused to compete in the dunk contest because he was afraid it would hurt his brand. Now, guys like Zion who were doing dunk contests for 2 buddies back in college are refusing to compete in the dunk contest for the same reason - even though if it wasn't for those dunks, he wouldn't even have gotten drafted due to his health issues. They're entertainers. They can be replaced by trained monkeys or even untrained Youtubers. They've only got a couple of years to figure this shit out and resolve it before they start confronting going bankrupt once that tv deal expires.

I can tell you this I'm a Republican and I've heard a way a lot of these NBA players talk about Trump supporters like Steve Kerr and Steph Curry and LeBron James I can't stand these fools

I thought you weren’t going to say it, but you did at the end. It’s politics. As the great Michael Jordan said, “Republicans buy shoes too.” It’s obvious that ratings are down 50% the same percentage of people that voted Red are tuning out.
