I accidentally adopted an abandoned pup at 4 days old (accidentally because the person who owned the apartment it was left in gave it to me because she had no idea what to do with it and originally told me it was a pit). Come to find out through DNA it is a boerboel. Best DOG EVER!

I owned three, a male and two females. They are very loyal, and are never a nuisance, even when not fully trained. What I love more about them is they are resistant to many dog ailments and can tolerate high South African temperatures. All this breed needs is good nutrition, fair play time and love, that's all. Also good with kids, and are not easily irritated by small kids.

I have a female, I chose Boerboel because they're very protective and good with kids. Despite their enormous size they are very agile, more so than any other mastiff breed.

У меня была собака- южно-африканский бурбуль(девочка) Аджилина-"Аджи"прожила с нами 11 лет. Лучше нашей ласточки никого нет, не было и не будет. Боже- она была такая грозная для других( любую собаку - особенно больших размеров она подавляла- хоть ротвейлер, кони корсо, мастифов, овчарок. Люди всегда шли аккуратно, не делали резких движений под её внимательным, не мигающим взглядом. И вообще у неё были всё повадки львицы. А с нами: со мной, женой, дочкой она была щеночком, зайчиком- позволяла делать с собой, что угодно. Если жена в порыве нежности слишком сильно укусит за брыльку- Аджи тоненько взвизгнет( это при том что её громкий низкий рык знали всё в округе) и со скуляжом бросится ко мне искать защиты и наоборот, если я её слишком затискаю в порыве нежности, она бежит жаловаться к жене или дочке. Больше никогда бурбуля не возьму- порода великолепная - лучше породы нет( она сочетает в себе все лучшие качества собаки), но второй такой собаки не будет никогда- Аджилина забрала наши сердца, ушла на небо и оставила нас одних. До встречи наш Ангелочек!

Got 2 Boerboel pups last month, 4 months old. Love them to bits. Very overprotective and active.

I got my girl 5 weeks ago at 7 weeks old. In five weeks she’s gone from 12 kg’s to 26kg’s. Her paws are huge. She’s very muscular and I’ve had to buy her a new collar to fit her growing neck. She’s magnificent to look at. The vet believes she’s going to reach the weight and size of a male. She’s extremely smart, follows all commands already, very obedient and loving. She very loyal to me, needs a lot of my time and wants to be close to me, even sitting on my feet if I’m doing dishes but she can be destructive if I’m too busy on a particular day. I’m attack training her at the moment and she’s already so strong I’m struggling to push her back. She knows her word to stop but when she’s done, she’s done. She’ll just flop down and that’s it, she can’t be forced to keep going. She makes me so happy, I love her so much. I live on property which is perfect for her but my biggest fear is her being bitten by a snake, they are all deadly here where I live.
