This is your reminder that you have free will! Go to a library get a card and sit there all afternoon reading a book

Books have but one desire: to tell other things something interesting. Be it people reading a story, or other books what happened while they were away from the shelf.

In my country, we use the same world for getting rid of books and pulling up plants.

I always loved that facts, because it proves they are indeed living, just like the trees they once were.

Libraries are forests.

I thought this would've been about the library initiative a few years back when you could talk to "living books" - people with an interesting life story to tell who would sit and talk with you about it

SH*t now I have flashbacks to a picture story of books being "born" and "growing up" in hopes of becoming big and thick like their ancient forefathers

As a kid, I accidentally dropped a library book in the bath. Devastated and guilty, I carefully dried each page, and returned to the library to let them know - as expected, they couldn't take it back, so I paid an adoption fee and took it home with me. I loved the book so much, I bought the rest of the family, and to this day, years later, they are all cuddled up together on my shelf, surrounded by many, many other books.

I am reminded of the Discworld novel "Sourcery", specifically how The Librarian moves as many books as he can from the library to a nearby tower to protect them. He even has to perform an appendix ectomy on one that got damaged. Books are beautiful things, but also fragile. Please be careful with any you borrow, especially if they are endangered due to being out of print.

1:40 people will say than go read books, but uh, that’s a little difficult if you have a busy life and schedule, but it is important to make time to read, as it helps your brain in a lot of ways, helps you stay creative, and may help you with reducing risk of Alzheimer’s and Dementia

If all books suddenly started running around and harming people. I would be spare, for I have cared for my books as though they were my children.

I don’t have children. But I feel as if the books fill that space in my heart.

Now I feel bad about keeping my book on my desk, away from its buddies.

"I miss reading books..." said Bettina Levy as she looked out across the red-stained sea and the port town that used to be above it. Her breath was cold, cold enough to see by exhaling. She thought of how she and her friends would pretend to smoke when they were little. But now, she'd never see them again. She'd never see winter either, not since 2nd Impact gave the world eternal summer. In a way, it was...nostalgic. 2015 simultaneously felt as though it were just yesterday, and a million years ago. "I miss grass" she said, "And Ice cream. And tea...and wooden picnic tables...and...you..." she turned on her phone to see a lockscreen photo of her an her sister back in 2014. She moved to unlock it but the screen refused to move. She was confused, before realising her finger was wet, as was her face.
The plopped on her helmet, got on her bike and drove back down the mountain.

This just reminded me--I gotta return the book I borrowed from the library! I bet she'll LOVE to tell all her friends in the children's lit section that she helped an English major write her paper! XD
