Just put up a Datboss in the attic this week. Works like a dream. I'm about 40 miles from most transmitters, but they're all in the same direction, give or take a few degrees. I'm getting channels Crystal clear I didn't think were possible at this range, even during a storm.

I own a Televes Dat Boss LR Mix antenna. It took me watching a YouTube installation video & 1 hour to correctly assemble. It was money & time well spent. My antenna height is 22 feet, it picks up 2 towers at 69 miles distant thru trees with a top level picture. 1 tower at 82 miles distant is night time only. Earth curvature means 60 miles at 10 feet in height regardless of manufacturer propaganda.
The Televes Dat Boss LR is an exceptional LR antenna, the filters work perfectly & the antenna is well made not flimsy like many others.

yea, that DATBOSS Mix LR is definitely the mac-daddy of antennas. I had one in my attic for a bit. Due to the duct runs and the placement of my chimney (which added additional layers of material), I ended up selling mine on Facebook marketplace cause I couldn't quite get it pointed in the direction I needed. I didn't have any real problems putting it together. I used the instructions and watched the Youtube video. One of the things I like about the Televes power unit is that I can run one cable to the TV, and the other to my AirTV. looking forward to seeing the reviews.

I subscribed to Tyler, The Antenna Man on YouTube and he recommended the 149884 Televes based on my location and reception needs. I have a "neighbor" about 5 miles further away from the broadcast "antenna field" (as they call it) that I recommended Tyler to-He in fact signed up for Tyler's $40 lifetime antenna help program. To my surprise Tyler recommended the OLDER version of the Dat Boss LR (149883) antenna. Would you have any idea why he would have done that? Seems to be going backwards to me because Televes UPDATED the unit completely...

I'm a Channel Master fan but I'm looking hard at this antenna to replace my 100 mile Channel Master antenna.

I just got that mac daddy and can attest, if you're in a hilly area or what you want is just out of reach... Well in my case I was amazed. Though I have to give you a C- for the unboxing. This isn't an "unboxing" it's a "box dumping". Lol

Do you INSTALL antennas? I'm over in Palm Bay and strongly looking at the Televes Long Range Mix 149884 antenna to replace a weak 45 mile Winegard that we have now. Thanks!

Been a full cord-cutter for a few years. Not so much to save money but frankly hate paying the cable & satellite companies. Because of this & 2 of the houses I own are both in difficult markets, I have bought a number of the best antenna's & have actual experience using them.
The absolute best antenna for its size & yes, size matters is the Televes DatBoss LR Mix.
But & this is a Giagantic But, even the best antenna will work like crap if you use cheap cable.
RG59 is totally useless for any outdoor antenna application. Period end of story. Loss of db gain is the reason.
RG6 steel core or copper clad is only marginally better. Less db gain loss but significant over length.
RG11 Solid Copper Core is the ONLY way to go. Yes, it is just that important. Using it you will substantially increase the number of towers received & the quality of the reception. Number of towers = numbers of stations.
Where this is especially an issue is towers located 60 miles & further distant.
1 more huge tip, NEVER use an extender as in only use 1 cable, Do Not save a penny & lose a dollars worth of reception (gain) by taking 2 shorter cables & adding an extension. Biggest reason is in the pre-amp. Pre-amp works only with 1 cable, significant loss of db gain which is your total reception occurs where you added the extension.
Frankly, if you are serious about reception, buy a top reviewed long distance antenna (box advertisement in miles are all lies) use a recommended antenna height (20 feet minimum) & use only a single RG11 solid copper core cable.
Antenna horizon is 60 miles at 20 feet in height, this is Earth Curvature. Trees/mountains/ etc reduce the horizon. Height increases the curvature & is the only way to increase the distance. Good way of figure is 10 feet = 10 miles maximum at 90 miles. Advertisements suggesting 150/200 miles are frankly lies & do not take earth curvature into account.
If you remember only 1 thing, RG11 Solid Copper Core antenna cable single cable run never connect 2 together.
