Meeting Moxie: Our Hands-On Review

Embodied’s Moxie learning robot arrives at our reviewer’s home and meets her young son for the first time. Though the bot’s a bit sleepy, this looks like the start of a beautiful friendship.

Maybe teach the kid that the robot has to boot up first and then it can do all the cool things advertised

Cool looking but not particularly interactive. These will probably be hooked up to age-appropriate chatbots before long.

kids don't know how to interface with robots. Maybe the robots need to be more immediately receptive to communication efforts?

So... I'm confused, on some other reviews, people say Moxie can do two way conversation with their kids, but in this case the boy said Hi Moxie many times and it never responded with a "hi" back. I'm a little disappointed.

How about you teach your kids to communicate to other kids……

A great path you’re putting that child on. Let him grow to emotionally lean on a non-living doll that talks with him. He’ll later outgrow it and move onto more adult sized dolls.

Lol this is embarrassing. The robot didn’t respond right. The kid wanted to touch and cuddle and it’s obviously not designed for that at all. The product is failure. I need a budget! I’ll do it right.

Your hands-on review consists of a bad parent allowing their child to repetitively talk to the robot as its trying to initiate it's setup process, but then you stop the video before introductions are done seconds later? Where's the review? "Here's PCMags reviews of the brand new iPad....(review stops once they enter their email/password in the setup process)". 🤣
