John, these cookies have become my dad’s favorite! He is 90 years old and for Father’s Day I made a Cookie jar for him. I am filling the jar with these cookies. Each month for a year he will give the jar back to me and I will bake more cookies for him. He will choose the cookie and I have a feeling it will be these!😎. I wanted you to know this because your recipes do more than give us the opportunity to create yummy food! These cookies feed the soul for me and my 90 year old dad!❤. Thank you for giving me something that I can share with my dad in his final years! Happy Father’s Day to the both of you too!

I love how John doesn’t pretend that baking and cooking is always a clean and perfect process. I’m also not great at cleaning as I go. The kitchen always looks like a storm blew in when I’m finished

Finally I see someone else take out the excess moisture in pumpkin puree, makes a huge difference in cookies! Pumpkin oatmeal cookies are also amazing when you do this.

Hi John. One cake I know has cardamom as a very defining flavour is the Indonesian kueh lapis (also called spekuk), a very rich cake made of layers of light vanilla and dark spiced batter, but it will take hours to make as every layer is baked in turn. Just like your (amazing) cookies, the spices are to taste, but traditionally it has cardamom in it. I don't have a specific recipe for it, unfortunately, there are many versions of it. I'd love to see you cover it in a video.

there is this Persian cupcake which is my favorite as I grew up with that..it has cardamom and rose water...AMAZING...since you were asking about a cake with cardamom. You may want to try that

Persian love cake is one of my favorite cakes to make with cardamom! A beautiful blend of almond, cardamom, rose and a touch of lemon. It's topped with a light rose icing covered in chopped pistachios. Heaven!

best pumpkin cookies I've ever made, really important to remove the liquid from the pumpkin to avoid a cake-y texture. also made the mistake of not using fresh baking soda/powder so the cookies didn't rise but still decent. great recipe!

I just tried this recipe after taking a stab at making my own pumpkin puree and omg are these just so amazing. This is exactly what I want when I think about any kind of chacolate chip cookie, it's soft chewy and perfectly sweet. Thank you for this recipe it will become a staple for me!

1. Drain the pumpkin purée
2. Don’t over mix or the cookie gets tough
3. Clean as you go
4. Chill the cookies after they are on the baking sheet.

John, I made these cookies last night with my niece and nephew....they are so YUMMY and easy to make!! The hardest part was waiting 30 minutes for each batch to chill in the fridge, but it was totally worth it. We will be making them again for sure. My mum used to make a cardamom cake. It was just like a Pound Cake, with ground cardamom (not pods) added for flavour. It's nice with a thin glaze of preserved ginger syrup icing.

I hate pumpkin, but my husband mentioned one day after I made cinnamon rolls that he had hoped I made pumpkin cookies, the very next day you posted the video on how to make them and then the day after that you posted this video, so I Thank You for this because I was looking for a good recipe to follow ❤️💙

A month later I've made them, he didn't like them shockingly, but I decided to try one and I actually really enjoyed it. I think it's definitely a one cookie only, as too many would be too much, but I didn't hate it and I'm proud of that fact.
One day later:
Okay, so I caught my husband eating the cookies and called him out on it, he admitted they're not as bad as he claimed. I also just ate four with some milk and am forcing myself to stop. They grew on me pretty quickly.
