Can't believe this movie is rated only 6.8 out of 10.  Do people not grasp the emotions this films deals with?  This film wasn't about a man surviving in the wilderness and fighting wolves.  It was about a man finding himself again, and finding his purpose in life - TO LIVE!

I feel like people who didn't like this movie simply didn't understand the point of it. They went in expecting a movie about survival, and got something very different. The Grey isn't about survival. It's about death. In the end you can either go into the void kicking and screaming, or you can go on your own terms. Either way, everyone dies. It is wise to recognize when you only have one option. In its own way, The Grey is more than any survival movie could ever hope to be.

This movie is a masterpiece. I have always wondered if there were really wolves hunting them or it was their own demons that we see as wolves that ended up killing them. Either way it gives a very powerful message.

He was the alpha male of his group. He fought the alpha male at the end. Based on the short scene after the credits, it seems he defeated the alpha male but most likely died from wounds taken during the fight. It was an amazing touch to add that scene after the credits. Both alphas died. Pretty symbolic. The whole point of the ending was to show that you never give up. Even when everything is against you, stand up and fight.

Imo, one of Liam Neeson's best dramatic performances. This film is so underrated, it's beautifully directed and the score I can honestly say it's Hans Zimmer worthy.
And it's not about just a bunch of plane crash survivors who then have to face the constant threat of wolves, it's so much more than that, it has a beautiful, strong message. And the narration of his letter to his deceased wife is so much more emotional if you consider the fact that it was written by Liam himself after the director asked him to write it as if it were to his actual deceased wife. And the part around the fire, when he talks about his dad with the poem and the score always gives me the chills.

This music is amazing. Never heard of this composer, Jami Winans yet he's truly amazing. The use of this song in the film The Grey is so very epic and beautiful.

literally my favorite movie of all time! not necessarily because of the plot (common action survival story), but because of Liam Neeson's character and his emotional story. His famous 4 line poem touches me greatly::
