A lot of people don't realise the pools are smaller than what the towers were - 176ftx176ft compared to 209ftx 209ft.

The legal issues were the biggest impediment to getting the memorial built. Damned lawyers!!

One wtc is built on the former 6 wtc sight so it’s still on top of the old WTC site

when i visited the museum, there was a room with the faces of all the beautiful people who had perished there along with some possessions. the heaviness alone in that room brought me to tears. to think that all those people had families that loved them.❤

They need to make a memorial for all the first responders that have paid the ultimate price from working down their for weeks and months on end to bring their friends and family home. Not that any of them would have done differently but they still deserve respect and appreciation for what they did.

There is more than enough room on the site, or even on one of the walls in the museum to begin etching their names. I’m sure something could be integrated slowly that would mesh seamlessly with the current memorial. The only unfortunate thing about it, is it would be about 40-50 years or more before the last name is etched into history.

It took them decades just to get health care, let’s not take decades to put up their memorial too.. everyone claimed they’d never forget 9/11, and it’s true, they haven’t but it sure seems like they’ve forgotten the ones that cleaned it all up and brought countless families closure by giving them something to indicate the last moments of their friend or family, for some it was a FF halligan bar with initials on it, for some it was literally a single bone from their pinky and for countless others, nothing at all… but it didn’t stop them from trying. There is even still some people today that donate their time searching rooftops and crevices surrounding the site… and even they’ve found debris and in some cases, remains… people forget just how much others sacrificed in the months and years following 9/11… give them what they deserve.

Another fact about it, the center pool is the perfect depth so no matter what angle you’re looking from, you’ll never see the bottom

I was tech scouting a television show in Troy, NY and we were in the public library. I saw a book titled “faces of 9-11”. I took it off the shelf not know what it was going to be and opened it up…..directly to the page that had my friend who died on it. It was the most chilling thing I’d ever experienced.

The WTC memorial pools are actually smaller than what the footprints of the towers were. The first tree line marks the actual perimeter of the towers, thus you would've been standing in the lobby of the towers while next to the pool. Rip to all the people who lost their lives and rip to my friend john🙏 He worked in the north tower and he saddly didnt make it

The current One World Trade Center is built on the property where WTC 6 used to be. And the entrance to the 9-11 museum was about where the Keonig Sphere originally was located. The museum is located where the parking garage used to be.

Don’t forget the most important fact. The property developer, Larry Silverstein is the one guy that made a fortune from all that misery.

I remember it being my forth or fifth birthday when the towers fell i seen it on the news,
I sadly was to young to understand what was happening,
I always felt bad celebrating the day of great morning for so many..i wish they rest in peace,
They all deserved so much more,

If all else i hope they know that they are not forgotten and missed by all those who loved them

Just to give an idea of how large the towers were. All 4 sides of both Towers were 209 feet long and a 767 from from tip to top of the wings are 157 feet long. Which means it was still an extra 52 feet of building compared to the planes.
