Is There Too Much Competition As a Real Estate Agent? I chose this topic just like I choose the rest, it’s subjects I think about while becoming a Real Estate agent. Competition as a real estate agent is discussed often. It's especially discussed or thought about when deciding to become a real estate agent. I searched YouTube, but only found the main coaches in the game talking about ways to beat the competition. I was interested in facts, stats and how the best think about competition.

I also talk about how I think about competition from my point of view as well as 4 (basically 3) ways to go about competition as a real estate agent at the end. Really Hope it helps! 👍

Hey Callum. Unfortunately, it appears that automation/digitization will replace the vast majority of agent/brokerage demand in an already saturated industry over the next decade. The disruptive technology has already arrived . We have seen what companies the likes of Air bnb can do to the tourism industry and Uber/Lift to the taxi industry. The revenues and marketshare have been significantly impacted, to the point of sheer desperation in some cases. We can also see that this pandemic situation has only served to speed up the implementation of digitization of industries globally. Unemployment at historic rates leading to significant market saturation due to training being one of the lighter barrier-to-entry career pathways, obsoletion, increasing competition, recurring expenses(Which may or may not rise/fluctuate), cyclical downturn exposure, etc etc... Clearly, there is a lot to consider if you want to approach this venture from a cost vs benefit vs sustainability perspective. Its fine to dream, but its not realistic to suggest to the local YMCA basketball star that he can make the NBA if he works hard enough. Like any investment, there is an entry point and although you never want to try to time the market, the job market is a different beast all together. While it may be unlikely for brick and mortar Realtors to disappear entirely, this really doesn't seem like a sustainable career path. Comments?

Competition is inevitable in almost every aspect of business. Word of mouth is imo the best marketing and selling tool.

Question: Do you think starting in your early 40's is too late? I don't think so. But I would appreciate your input. Thank you for your videos.
