Dead Mall - Fort Steuben Mall - Steubenville, OH

Touring this 70s mall that is hanging on by a thread, buckling floors and cracked walls are commonplace in this building. Overall the mall is pretty dull with very few tenants, but still has some classic aesthetics that make it worth seeing!

I grew up in Ohio and used to frequent the Steubenville mall. I have a fond memory of watching somebody die in the radio space right next to the entrance. Some dude was freaking out about a girl being dead and called the ambulance. Pretty weird

Mall guts looking like the walk to the nasty locker rooms in an old high school… 😂

I remember all the times I had in this mall when I was younger. Man, did this mall go downhill FAST.

I see the floor of the mall still sinking! I remember the floor around att had to have multiple cones so people would not trip. I see the post barriers there in the vid.

Thank you for this. I grew up in the area too, and loved seeing this. Still love home, no matter what.

Lived off sunset and cunningham for a small while - as "uptown" as one can live (further u get from downtown nicer it is). I have MANY fond memories of this mall as a child, including visiting it to see my cousin (RIP) who worked at the diamond store there. I remember they had an arcade, titled "tilt" i believe? that while subpar to what i had seen growing up in CA was still sufficient enough to grant me a great time. Sadly what was once the city's most notorious landmark (population wise - i am aware of "fort steuben") has been a ghost town for some time now. Living there in 2013 i only ever visited that general mall area for the library and the walmart. I learned how much of an effect the population of a city has on our quality of life first hand by residing in the ville the short time i lived there.

When the Steel Mills closed, it took a big chunk out of the local economy. I still have hope though, because the Ohio Valley's greatest asset is it's hard working people who can outperform anyone else in this country!

Not worth living there now. Steubenville is a ghost town. Not like the 80s when I grew up there from 16 til I decided to leave for good. My grandmother loved Steubenville Big Red. My school will always be Biloxi.
