Here is one of my favorite go-to country french recipes. It's super easy and delicious!
8 slices of country French bread
1 lb of sliced ham
jar of Dijon mustard
1/3 lbs of Gruyere Cheese
BECHAMEL SAUCE
2 tbls unsalted butter
2 tbls All Purpose Flour
2 to 2 1/2 cups whole milk (room temperature)
pinch of nutmeg
salt to taste
