Wow this is not even close the Dreamcast version wipes the PS2 version out completely in everything.

Olympic Fever part 2! Canada (M) and Japan (W) won the first ever Gold medals in Breakdancing!
1. Dreamcast version starts with a loading screen. They really were proud of that opening video package.
2. The production values of the Dreamcast version is quite good. Especially instant replays.
3. Like Decathlete from the last video I feel it does a better job explaining each event.
4. Ps2 version does have 3d models for the character select which is something.

I had no idea that PS2 collection existed, so cool! Sony even got a port of Dragonforce to the PS3 on PSN, you should do a comparison between that and the Saturn original.

I expected to see a difference in quality, especially in textures and image quality, which are clearly the strength of the dreamcast and which is once again visible in this comparison, but I didn't expect the ps2 version with the stadium public to be entirely static like a jpeg, unlike the dream version, which is at least in motion.

but none of these games show the capabilities of the dream or ps2.
they are slightly improved ports of the saturn game itself from the arcade (saturn hardware).
edit : actually it was the first virtua athlete
the version 2k was first released on naomi
since graphically it's not a rendering of the naomi games either, it's possible that the devs ported the arcade saturn version and improved it without necessarily redoing it from scratch for the naomi.

however, they still show the ps2/dream differences in general, meaning the image and texture quality is always superior on dreamcast and even this slightly improved saturn game comparison is no exception.

VC Decide. I once said Starfox wasn't real 3D because the ground is just a gradient with dots on the ground to show perspective. But this is quite workable as a fully rotatable 3D scene, with the background being tilted slightly using column scrolling and primitive 3D objects. You could position the camera at any angle using this technique as seen in Guardian for the Amiga.

The SEGA AGES games for PS2 are a simple series that were ported with minimal capital. It's ridiculous to compare the minor PS2 games with the Dreamcast ports that were made with all their might.

Holy crap. PS2-version has even sprites on field (around 6.30-), instead of polygonal characters.
What we can say?
Well, once again PS2 lives up to our modest expectations.

Crowd is actually fully animated on DC.

Dreamcast looks more like watching real olimpics on tv.

Hmm. Interesting. I find it funny when sports games use phony names for real brands. FumiFilm=FujiFilm Senko=Seiko Nepsen=Epson

That is a lot of jagged lines on the Dreamcast game. So the Ps2´s game field rendering was not really the culprit for all the tracks´s jagged lines after all.

You can almost feel the contempt Sega put into the PS2 port. You'd see this a lot with their Dreamcast-to-PS2 ports. Sony got the better of them, and this was their way of thumbing their nose at them.

Vehemently claims to not show favoritism towards Sega consoles, then proceeds to show three comparisons in a row that show off Sega-produced games which that were sloppily ported to the PS2. Yeah. No agenda there! /sarcasm.
