As a beginner in the game, without rangefinder stuffs, binocular and bow sight, highly recommended to download the shooting range and practise with the bow as much as you can, and if you are good with different distances (I would say up to 50m) you can hunt with bows well.

Just got an achievement where I killed a Plains Bison with a Long bow with one shot with a class nine arrow, not to mention I try that out with a Black Bear and got it with one shot at Silver Ridge Peaks I'm proud of myself.

in my humble opinion and not too much experience with the bow (15000 archery score) shots at 60m is the absolute maximum you should go for. preferebly 40m or closer because the wind wont affect the arrow and the arrow wont drop+no power loss= always a kill if you hit vitals ofc

This game is a little bit broken because I use the bear lite with the bright sight range finder bow sight, and I have the wind direction ability equipped, and only so far on the Yukon map where I’m hunting Bison near rustling ridge on the nearest lake towards the safe house or outpost whatever you call it. My arrows literally go through the Bison, and I know they should hit because I’ve hit a lynx from 111 meters away with 11 m/s wind speeds. I’ve hit plenty of bears, moose, deer, goats, bison from 100+ meters away even fox and birds, but sometimes when I take my shots here specifically I have everything aimed as it should be like all my other shots and I miss every single shot, and I’m aiming for their lungs literally one of the biggest hit points in all of the game. It usually gets fixed when I fast travel back to the outpost and comeback to the area.

I wanted to try bows so I spent 28, 000 to reset my perks to archery not realising I would lose my rang finder thing now im stuck at pin point 60m and only the stock compound bow sight its so hard to judge where to aim when they are closer then 60m gotta earn 28k to reset

Hey Risky, is there a reference chart as to how wide to adjust aim for wind direction, I've been doing a lot of crossbow hunts, and I've noticed alot that stance will change the trajectory of your shots as well ie, crouching while aiming center lung will almost always recoil closer to spine

for me i could hit geese and ducks from 60 meters but the moment i need to shoot at a deer no matter where i aim i miss
