As a NRI in Dubai, I am glad someone addressed this issue. I earn 7000 Dhs per month and my monthly expenses in Dubai are about 5000 Dhs. Out of the remaining 2000, I send about 1500 Dhs every month which is about Rs.33000. I keep only about Dhs. 500 (Rs. 11000) every month. It's difficult to save money for a flight ticket to go see my family. My colleague whose salary is Dhs.3500 had to borrow money to go to Kerala, where he lost his house in the landslide. Not all NRIs are rich. We come here to earn money for our families. But to some, we aren't middle class anymore. I share room with 2 others just so that my rent is shared. It's not easy for everyone. We work here because it's more than we get in India. But it's a struggle. Staying away from your family and loved ones is not easy. Not being able to see them is difficult.

This is an issue the travelers from kerala are hearing about the flight ticket issues. Even the State of Kerala has been having a pravasi minister since 1980. During the last five decades, this issue is alive, and travelers are suffering.

Because sometimes when the airline want to sell of their seats, they lower the fare. I once booked air india from del to imf for just 5000inr in a business class.
