Nice to see my game (Elysian Eclipse) mentioned in a video. We're making really fast progress on it and I hope to have a demo of the editor, or at least a video of it, by early April.

As for the other Spore-like games, Adapt is my favourite so far.

Something that wasn't mentioned about No Man's Sky and Stellaris that I would like to add is that both of them regularly get free content updates. Stellaris also has *insane* modding support. Both games are incredible, would highly recommend!

I know you told me not to get hyped up but _man_ I am SO hyped for Elysian Eclipse! Spore has always been an underrated masterpiece and I love the fact that it's legacy is still standing!

I know there’s been talk of Thrive possibly never being finished, but I would _at least_ like to witness the Aware stage and play as all kinds of creatures with different niches, movesets and playstyles. I can only move toward resources, absorb them and do little else in the Microbe Stage for so long, regrettably. Not to diss those who enjoy it more than I do, I just want more diversity in what I can make, do and specialize in.

As sometime who's played Stellaris incessantly, I can HIGHLY recommend it! It's an absolute blast, and it's also highly modable; whether you want to add more depth to the civics and ethics of your empire, or build the largest megastructures you can, it's an amazing game that's guaranteed to keep you occupied for quite some time!

I would love to see a tool that emulates the Spore Timeline between stages. Imagine an interfaces that can load save game data from a number of games applicable to different stages, to keep a record of your species/civilizations accomplishments, and its trajectory along different routes similar to the ones in spore. Like, depending on how you play Universim, it determines what policies/ethics you start out with in Stellaris.
Having a tool that just provides the cool visual, history & basic route-flowchart where you manually type these data in seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to create. But I have recently even seen modding projects that genuinely take it to the next level of incorporating multiple games. "Crusader Blade" for example has you play the grand strategy game Crusader Kings III, but loads Mount&Blade II Bannerlord for battles on the battlefield, recreating the skirmish based on your strategy savegame.

Wether as a Mod or a project across different development teams, I think such an approach across games could open the door for amazing massive projects outside the sphere of AAA games. No single indie-developer could probably undertake a project as big as trying to create a spiritual successor to Spore. But a bunch of them banding togehter... that may be a different story.

I really like Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. It’s not really anything like spore and it’s super complicated, but still extremely fun and my brain has been hyperfixated on it ever since I started! It’s so good. Basically you play as our hominid ancestors, and you (very slowly) work your way through (slowly) evolution *(really slowly)*. You get to customize how you evolve and it’s all unlocked by doing things! It’s inspired by scientific studies too, and it’s very in-depth. It was released in 2019 and is about $50 CAD on steam. I’d love to see Rebecca play it!

Just imagine all these games put together and that is the Spore game we want. Thrive for the cell stage, Adapt for creature, Universim for tribal/Civ and No Man's Sky for Space
