After watching your review I decided to buy it as the local Lidl is selling it. I am disappointed. I used to have a Flymo trimmer Revolution 2300 for over 20 years and it’s showing its age as the drum has too much movement and making unusual noise. The new Flymo models do not look as good and obviously more pricey.

The Parkside trimmer looks good but after using it, I had the following problems.
1) It keeps breaking the trimming cables – I had to adjust it no less than 15 times in half an hour of usage i.e. every 2 minutes. I was trimming the weed between gaps of the paving slabs, it might break on hitting the slabs but my Flymo do not have this problem.
2) It does not have double protective switch. Most garden tools have this feature for safety reason. It’s a simple feature to add. A few times, after adjusting the trimming lines, I picked up the handle, it turned, this can be dangerous. So for all users, make sure you are not wearing your flip-flops when using it.
3) With 500W, it’s powerful enough but the whole shaft just shakes when firing up. It feels filmsy. I wonder if 500W is too powerful.
For the price I paid, I do not expect a great deal from it but I hope it will last a bit longer. There is no point of returning it. I have to wait to see if I will be really fed up with these problems.

One more thing. The trimming lines feed through a hole which can be fiddly, the Flymo allow the lines to be clipped in, which is much easier to re-feed.

Could it be possíble use a blade to cut thiker bushes or only nylon line?

Worked bad at first, changed the line to 2mm works well now, will try 2, 4mm next time

It's a crap. The nylon breaks whenever I hit a thicker (not much thicker than grass) weed.. Consider this before buying.
