The film tells the story of the creation of the Christmas Carol and features world stars like Rolando Villazón, Kelly Clarkson, Joss Stone and David Foster, who share their personal Christmas experiences in their home towns and perform Silent Night in various languages.

The eternal song born of the incredibly hard everyday life of the Tyrolean mountain population. Mohr and Gruber themselves no richer than the people in the Stillertal, were stunned by the human losses in the harsh mountain winter and the powerlessness of the people. The Tyrolean mountain shepherds communicated in a singing language. The eternal song is born out of desperation but still full of hope and love a gift of the pastor Mohr to the people of the Zillertal, a hymn of love and confidence. The song was also spread by the siblings Strasser a very touching true story, they were simple traders and to sell their self-made gloves they sang "ächte Tyroler Volksweysen" also at the Leipzig Christmas Market in 1831 from there, the song took its course in the world.
